Ordinary wasp

The common wasp (scientific name Vespula vulgaris) is an insect of the genus Axis and one of the most common representatives of this genus in Central Europe. It is an indigenous Slovenian species. The common wasp is characterized by a yellow-black color. The nuts measure up to 20 mm in length and the female workers are significantly smaller (11-13 mm). The dots reach a length of 13-16 mm. Adult animals feed especially on nectar and other plant juices. Wasps feed their larvae with chewing insects and other protein nutrients. They are very annoying and have a painful burning spot

    • Thanks for watching and kind comment, my dear friend….this is a big problem … I also know a person who is allergic to wasps and bee stings

  1. We call this wasp a Yellow Jacket here in the states. Yes, I have been stung by them. Unlike the bee they don’t die when they sting you. You sure feel like it for about an hour though, they do hurt.

    • Thank you for your visit and nice comment, dear Kim…it is very embarrassing to have those pussies … there are so many of them this year and they get very annoying

  2. I have been stung by a wash a year ago, I didn’t notice that it had built a nest in a tree I was trying to prune. It was an awful experience.
