My first orchid grew out of some potting soil that I rescued from the dumpster when I was throwing trash away one day. It was an unusual variety that I didn’t even know was an orchid, but since there were green leaves on it, after pulling it out of the soil I put it in a bucket of water and left it all summer. When I got back in the fall it had a stem with a bump on it and so I gave it fresh water and some plant food and forgot about it. When it bloomed I was amazed and went online to learn as much as possible about it.
Ann thanks for an interesting experience with orchids
Orchids are pretty and have some beauty. The flowers also last a while.
Some of them are beautiful, they are also very sensitive
I have a few orchids myself. The crucifix orchid and another purple one and a pink one. I don’t know a lot about them.
Like orchids very much, but they smell too strong for me – have an allergy.
To cause allergy but I didn’t know
Its quite a beautiful image

Orchid is one type of flower that I like and ever have planted and collected several species. Because I live in Southeast Asia, we have many types of orchids here. Do you collecting orchids too, my friend?
Albert, however, there must be really many types of orchids because you have a damp atmosphere – I have some of them on the window just very sensitive –
Yes, Lado. Our tropical and subtropical climate is very suitable for orchids, and indeed most orchid varieties come from tropical countries.
I hear some of them get all their water from the air, not from the roots…
I suppose some really-especially those who grow in tropics where there is a lot of moisture in the air
I think the word for it is epiphyte, and yeah they grow in swamps
Alex does not know how to call himself otherwise; however, in the swamp and also on the trunks of other trees of one species, parasites are supposedly
if you depend upon a host to live and give nothing back to the host, you’re a parasite…
I have them in the warm place and they grow well-they are quite demanding
Yes, I had an orchid once, they are very delicate and hard to grow. Beautiful!
