Normal axis

A common axis is an insect of the genus axis and one of the most common representatives of this genus in Central Europe. It is an indigenous Slovenian species. The usual axis is typically yellow-colored. The nuts measure up to 20 mm in length and the workers are significantly smaller (11-13 mm). Trots reach a length of 13-16 mm. In spite of the fact that in mid-November, we are still happily flying around.

  1. We use to have the nasty blue ones, with iridescent wings. But when I bought the tennis racket shaped insect zapper, I was finally able to get them under control.

  2. I haven’t seen that type because it’s typical of Slovenia, right?
But in my tropical place, wasps are always there and I fly around here and there while it’s not raining.

Luckily I have never been stung by a bee.
