During my last visit of Lahore Fort (couple of weeks ago), i have seen this statue of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, at the Mai Jinda’s Haveli. It is the new adition in Lahore Fort. This status is installed on the 180th death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. As we all know that Lahore is now a muslim majority city and Maharaja Ranjit Singh was a sikh ruler so the intent behind this status is to forge a lasting friendship amongst the people of Punjab who were divided in 1947.
Maybe there were some weak areas of Maharaja Rinjit Singh’s era, but the fact is that he was one of the most successful ruler in the history of Punhab.
