Nature Tuesday ~ Unusual find in the forest

I like to walk very much. Sometimes I decide to climb to a lower hill. I can not overdo it because of health problems. Near my home, I have a couple of lower hills to climb. All climbs lead mostly through the woods. As we know, we can see a lot in the forest. I was very surprised when I noticed a real Christmas crib in the tree. When I arrived at the destination, I inquired about the crib. I learned that hikers bring some figure and thus create these Christmas cribs. It’s a really great idea.

  1. Cute little Christmas crib. In the woods no less. It must be kind of lonely there so I am sure it enjoyed your visit and your presentation here on Virily. I also used to hike behind our previous house a long time ago. My then dog Princesse just loved it too until she saw beaver face to face. She just turned around and came back running to me while the beaver plunged into its beaver-made dam. That was a priceless picture and splash.

  2. It is nice to know you have many of the same traditions in the woods as we do. There are places we hike to where the hikers have created their own artistic worlds. I love going on those trails.

      • There are parts of various trails around us where people remember those who died. The ones that loved to walk on that trail, or in some sad cases people that died on that trail from accidents or weather.

          • We have the same problem, there are far worse places in the US but we do have one of the longest trails (The Appalachian trail 1800 miles) and people are often injured while walking it.
