Nature Tuesday – Spooky Trees

When we hear the term cancer, we immediately think of the tumors that affect people, but this affection also occurs among the trees.

I had no idea about this. A friend told me about this baola encountered on the trees. How does it manifest? How can we recognize it?

The main symptom of cancer is the development of tumors of different sizes, shapes and consistency. Characteristic is the appearance of secondary tumors at some distance from the main tumor after a longer time.

  1. I wonder if they act the same as human cancers. Benign and malignant, acting as parasite and making the host suffer. After all, tumors are nothing but mutations. I never wondered if plants could develop them, but I guess whatever has DNA can. ?
