Nature Tuesday – Delicious gift of nature

Autumn is the rainy season, which means the mushroom season! Every one of us, who was in the countryside this wet season, could see a large number of this delicious gift of nature appearing immediately after the rain. Mushrooms are remarkable life forms. They have no roots, stems or leaves. They grow so fast that you almost feel like you are watching their evolution. Mushrooms contain many vitamins, minerals, fiber, antioxidants and water, with low sodium and fat and zero cholesterol. They are also rich in the B vitamins group: riboflavin, niacin, folic acid, thiamine and B6, being the only vegetarian source of vitamin D.

  1. I know in the right season how fast mushrooms grow…I put some leftovers of edible mushrooms in the garden and had fresh mushrooms in the morning…
Unfortunately, a certain hedgehog started eating the mushroom scraps and it was enjoying the scraps of mushrooms so much – I did not have the heart to stop him eating the scraps..
