Nature Tuesday: Crabs and Slugs

This was taken a couple of weeks ago. We went to Palina River (Roxas City, Philippines) for a tour with my wife’s relatives who just arrived from Canada. After an hour of river tour, we stopped on a shallow part of the beach.

Palina is an estuary – where the river meets the sea. The shallow water is littered with shelled marine life. My 4-year old son gathered some hermit crabs and some slugs that I haven’t seen before.

While I am quite familiar with the hermit crab, I don’t know the shelled slugs that he gathered.

    • Actually, I have my 4-year old son to thank for this piece of information. He’s been watching the animated show the Wild Krats on Youtube lately. The show is very interesting and has lots of information about wildlife.

I think I will make a post about this one. 😀
