My Solitary Gazania

Gazanias belong to the Asteraceae family , they are native to Southern Africa. These daisy like flowers are can be  2-3 inches in diameter depending upon soil conditions. These bloom abundantly.

I always plants gazanias in my garden because they remind me of my father. He used to plant them along the pathways in our garden. He loved gardening and smiled with  pure joy when they bloomed. He took great pride in his garden.

Gazanias come in yellows oranges , pinks and whites. But the mixed colors are the prettiest. All flowers have brown centers which makes them more attractive. These plants can grow in poor soil and thrive in neglect. You don’t really have to do much to get them to bloom.
