Love ItLove It WINWIN

My I

A colleague at the NGO asked me to accompany him to attend a meeting without willing to explain what the meeting was about. At first, I had refused his invitation but because of his request and enthusiasm, and with his various reasons, I finally went with him. “Just for a minute, my friend,” he said.

When we arrived, there were already quite a lot of people in the room, who was in a big house with a signboard a meditation studio in the gate. Apparently the meeting was the preliminary event for the new class. Those who are interested can continue to the meditation class at the next meeting. Knowing that, I chose to sit in the back row because I had no desire to attend the class.

After the Guru entered, he introduced himself and began to explain various things, especially about life with its various aspects, also about the goals and various meditation exercises that would be carried out in the real class. Before the session continues on the practice of simple meditation, the moderator allows participants to ask questions. One interesting question is, “Why did you say that life is suffering? Isn’t life duality, there is suffering and there is a pleasure, there is sorrow, there are day and night, there is man, there is a woman, there is me and not me, etc. Also positive and negative… that’s the duality of life, right? Do you mean that suffering you’ve mentioned is the negative side of the duality of life?”

“Suffering includes the duality of suffering & happiness. Why? Because the happiness of any amount lasts only briefly and quickly turns into boredom, tedium, dissatisfaction, desire, anxiety, worry, anxiety & fear. That is the nature of life; happiness & pleasure that at first glance is nothing compared to Suffering.

What is the root of Suffering? Suffering is rooted in “I” or self. Because of the nature of me or the self is always looking for pleasure and preservation or eternity and rejects all kinds of pain. As long as there is me, there is always a search for eternity. And that is impossible to obtain. That is why it is said, life as a person is Suffering.

Can this suffering disappear? If I or this self can disappear, then suffering will disappear.

About duality, the physical duality you mentioned earlier is natural, as is. But psychological duality, pleasure, pain, happiness, suffering, love, hate, etc. that is called Suffering. Does this answer your question? “The questioner nodded. But at that moment The Guru then stood up and said,” How about you, sir?”, He said with eyes pointing at me.  Of course, I looked left and right to make sure that he asked me, but I said nothing, apparently, he did step closer to me then put his hand on my back and pressed a little to ask me to stand while asking, “What do you think of my explanation earlier? May I also know why you came and sat in the back row?”

I can’t avoid anymore. “I was behind because I was releasing “I”, coz without “I” there was only peace and bliss, which was not a happy feeling like when my proposal was accepted by the person I love. That’s my answer, this fool, Guru.” I said while my head bending slightly.

“That’s why I asked why you sat in the back row because you should have been sitting in front of the class with me since earlier.”

  2. my answer to the question would be similar to yous. Instead, may I wander a little (as is my morning wont, to wander). Instead for a moment let us consider why the Guru would seek you out in the back row.

That your energy mirrored his desired energy, so he had to connect with you.

  3. Life is a single learning and struggle to survive, dear Albert … you have so much experience (both good and bad) that I could give them a lesson

  4. We learn more from pain and troubles than we learn from happiness. We need growth and suffering is one side of the coin called life.

  5. Life would be boring if there were no challenges and suffering is some form of a challenge. Having said that every cloud has a silver lining and it is for us to search for that silver lining.

I found happy moments when I met with that accident thirteen years ago. I wrote an article that got published in a local magazine. I added it in an article writing forum later

    • Challenges (problems) are lessons that are given life to us so (until) that we understand the essence, which is well analogous to the silver lining you mentioned.

That is what the Guru’s meant, a moment of happiness is like the tides on the beach.

  6. I think the meeting could be led by you. You (have) endured a lot in your life (suffering, sadness, happiness, joy …). The easiest way to teach people is from our own experience.

    • O, dear friend. Other people also have the right to share their experiences, right? I myself still lead the in-house training classes and the core of the training itself is everything I have ever been and will be discussed here.

  7. Life always brings obstacles, pain, suffering, hurt feelings, all to deal with and turn each one into happiness. That is my end goal.

You should sit in the front for the next meeting and direct the class.

    • Anda benar, Carol. Semua kesedihan dan rasa sakit “disediakan” untuk kita pelajari dan temukan kebahagiaan abadi di dalam

Hahayy … Itu bukan kelas saya, saya hanya datang sebagai pengunjung, saya masih memimpin kelas, tetapi biasanya pelatihan in-house.

    • Upzz… Total typo!!!!

You are right, Carol. All the grief and pain are “provided” for us to learn and find lasting bliss inside

Hahayy… That’s not my class, I only came as a visitor, I still lead the class, but usually in-house training.
