My daily pictures – Old man's beard flowers vs Old man's beard fruits

Any fruit is provided by a flower.

Starting from this reality I thought it was interesting to start a photography project entitled “From flowers to fruits and seeds”.

Old man’s beard(Clematis Vitalba)  is a climbing shrub  that develops on the trunk  of the trees, or even on the ground without a support. It is found in the luminous forests or on the edge of them, in the humid areas, with fertile soils.

The inflorescences of the Old man’s beard are made of yellow-white flowers, with numerous long and yellow stamens. Blooms in June-September. In late autumn and winter, when the fruit is ripe, the woolly appearance of it can be easily observed.

“No spring nor summer beauty has such grace as I have seen in one autumnal face.”― John Donne
