My daily pictures – Forgotten herbs – The knotgrass

The knotgrass is a humble plant, an unobserved weed, growing on the roadside. But as in the Cinderella fairy tale, humility hides virtues. The knotgrass is a weed rich in active principles, with multiple therapeutic uses. It is one of  the main plant sources of spontaneous flora, from which we can supplement our daily doses of silicon. It also contains tannins, flavones (aviculoaroside, arabinose), mucilages and small amounts of vitamin C.

  1. Never seen knotgrass and this is my first view, very interesting humility hides a lot of virtues, but humility is not a bad thing, …being who you are neither less nor something else is to me, is acceptance of your lot and not a bad thing…

  2. It does not look real to me. Never seen this weed. Or may be I did not notice. Weeds are just not looked at, sadly. But you gave it importance. Good job.
