Music Artist of the Day: Randy Travis

Today I chose Randy Travis for the music artist of the day.  I think he’s very deserving of today’s nomination.

Randy was born Randy Bruce Traywick in 1959.  He is from North Carolina.

Randy had a great music career before his stroke back in 2013.  According to news articles, he almost didn’t make it. It’s miraculous that he’s still alive and the recovery he’s made.

Randy’s first album (Storm’s of Life) came out in 1986, and since then he’s come out with 20 albums.

Over the past 32 years (since 1985) he’s won 36 awards and has been nominated for many more.

Besides his wonderful musical talent, he has also been in some movies and TV shows.

When you think of country music, he’s definitely one of the names that come to mind.  I still hear his songs on the radio almost daily.

What do you all think of Randy Travis?  Are you a fan of his music?  If you are, I would love to know which of his hits is your favorite?  Feel free to vote in the poll below!

If you know of a music artist you’d like to see as the musician of the day, leave their name in the comments below.
