Most liquid dish washing detergents do not have antibacterial properties

While you wash your dishes with warm water and liquid detergent, you probably think that you leave everything very clean and disinfected. But, most dish washing detergents do not have antibacterial properties. For bacteria to be destroyed, the water temperature should be above 60 degrees Celsius.

So, If you do not have a dishwasher and need to wash it by hand, use very warm water.

If you wash your dishes with a sponge, you are more likely to add bacteria to your plates than to destroy them. Use easy-to-dry silicone brushes. But,  if you cannot detach from the sponge in any way, be sure to change it at least once a week.
