Month End

In my line of work “month end” reports seems to be very important. It’s a scramble to get the data out to everyone so everyone can speculate about the trends. It seems to happen in so many different settings.

I overheard some girls chatter in line at the store. They were tallying “likes” on social media. My husband was reviewing his monthly entertainment balance. My workplace has many different reports.

I guess these numbers are important. After all the goal is to be profitable. (Some people determine that by dollars and cents, and others use more personal and less tangible terms.) In my personal life is a mixed bag, a little bit of everything in. In my business it all boils down to dollars and cents.

While I would love to write, chat, and imagine greater things, my month end reports have to be on the bosses desk by June 1st. 7:30 am. Will I make it back here before June 1st? Well, it depends on how the numbers fall.

  1. I use month end reports in my own business, to help keep me on goal – though mine is probably nowhere near as detailed as the ones you have to deal with at work!
