Its always fun to get a closer look at things. This is the actual flower of the poinsettia. We often look at the bracts and never beyond them. The bract are the colorful leaf like structures that grab our attention. The actual flowers are tiny and often ignored.
Macro always pay attention to details. Even in life we get carried away by success or failure and forget to pay attention to what took us there. If we pay attention to the finer details we can replicate them once again or help others achieve the same or avoid the pitfalls.

The poinsettia flower has an interesting history in Texas. But I have always liked this flower because I was born in December and my mom told it was “my” flower. LOL.
I love poinsettias. Lots of people talk about birth month flowers . I was born in the spring and I guess I have a bouquet for birth month flowers. 😀
I agree with you. Sometimes we miss out the details, and I am glad I got to see a lot of beautiful photos at Virily with the macro look of the flowers.
I am glad you like it. I enjoy Macro photography.
It is the first time I hear about this flower
That is so strange. The flower is one of the symbols of Christmas.
My mother planted this Poinsettia since she lived at home alone after we all lived in our own homes and there were no more pets there. The plant is indeed beautiful.
It is beautiful, thanks for sharing a beautiful memory with us.
You are very much welcome, my friend.
Macro makes us see things we may not notice otherwise. A pretty flower, though the name is a bit of tongue twister. ?
Macros does give a closer look . Glad you like it.
The possibilities are simply that we need to open our eyes to what is there.
Great picture, we don’t keep the plants in our house (we tend to kill plants) but also we don’t keep anything in the house that would hurt the dogs.
Dogs are smart , mine don’t even go near these plants. Don’t you use them for your Christmas decorations Doc?
we do not we actually do other decorations
I like poinsettias but I can’t keep them because the leaves are poisonous to my dog.
Only puppies may try to tug at the leaves. My dogs don’t even go near them.
That’s good. Our dog will eat anything but crackers.
LOL Your dog seems like a funny guy.
Wonderful macro! As a near-sighted person, at least I can take a close look at the details.
I am glad Ellie that you can have a closer look. thanks for stopping by.
Great macro image, dear friend
Thanks for the positive comment Lado.
With great pleasure, dear friend
Pretty macro and flower, love the red.
Thanks Carol I love poinsettias in any color. They just brighten up my Christmas.
Nice macro. I must admit that I am not good at taking macro photos.
But your pictures are great, I love all of them.
I have yet to start with the macro challenge. You are right about how poinsettias for us do not go beyond those red leaves.
The color is attractive and blinds our eyes to details.
