Milan Train Station with Passenger Train – Black & White (1978-11-23 01-36_01)

The photo was taken at the Milano Centrale train station, the largest railway station (by volume) in Europe.

The slide was so faded that the color was irretrievable so I went with converting to black and white. I used ACDSee Ultimate 2020 to do the conversion. I started by converting to black and white and adjusting the colors. Then I adjusted the lighting and increased the exposure slightly. I added more contrast and clarity and sharpened the image. Lastly I reduced the noise and haze.

  1. Have travelled a lot here but my most memorable train journey was in the US when I took that Amtrak route from San Jose to Oxnard a straight coastline experience with sea as company.

    • I used to work for a large travel agency and we got a lot of very nice free trips. This time we flew into Milan and then took the train to Monte Carlo. Other than the train getting stalled for about two hours just outside of Monaco after we had been traveling for over 30 hours, it was great. We got to see the old Italian villages along the way.
