Meet the Dingiso

You’re probably wondering what a dingiso is and why in the world you would want to meet it. Well, first of all, it’s an animal that is related to the kangaroos in Australia. The dingiso is a tiny black and white kangaroo that lives in trees. It makes its home in New Guinea in the mountainous rainforests.

The dingiso grows only 2,5 feet in length, has a long tail, and strongly developed hindquarters. When the dingiso hops it can move both hind feet at the same time so it has that in common with the Australian kangaroos. To be able to grip tree branches and trunks it has curved nails and cushioned pad with rough skin on its large feet.

Similar to the kangaroo a female dingiso has a pouch. Her babies can ride along while suckling milk from one of her four breasts, Unfortunately, dingisos are endangered due to the loss of their habitat, to hunters and a low birthrate,
