The main attraction at this magnificent lake is that it is not only manmade but largely “handmade”. The lake is the Jal Mahal. Translating to “Water Palace”, and is an icon of Jaipur, which is also known as the “pink city”. The floating red sandstone monument was built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799 in the center of Sagar Lake on the main Amer-Jaipur road in Rajasthan. It is known for its architecture and the surrounding Nahargarh hills.
