Macro Monday – Soldier beetle

I will never get tired of telling you that I love macro photography. Through it, I have discovered a lot of things I have overlooked before looking at them through the  camera lens. I’m talking about the wonderful world of insects.

This is an insect, about 7-8 mm long.It is  slender and straight, and often have red and black colors. Their coloring are reminiscent of a soldier’s uniform. The adults are seen only for a short period in early summer. It is a beneficial garden insect as the adults eat aphids. They also feed on nectar and pollen flowers. In addition, adults can contribute to the pollination of certain plants. its name is  Soldier beetle (Cantharidae).

I have taken this picture in Chindia Park.
