Macro Monday ~ Remembering Summer Days

This is another picture from my walk near my home. I walked between fields and meadows. I was pleasantly surprised to see a real plantation of zinnias in the middle of the fields. This is what bees were most looking forward to. Even on this flower, I later noticed a bee. Zinnias are usually grown on flower beds as annuals. They are often used as cut flowers that are put into a vase because they stay fresh in the water for a long time. It is best to pick them early in the morning before they fully open their flowers. They are raised in the open sunny area of the garden. Because they tolerate drought well, I’m not surprised that they were planted in the fields.
