Macro Monday ~ Playful swallows

I made this picture from my terrace. When I sat on the patio and enjoyed I saw swallows. I felt like swallows were playing or fishing in the air. Swallows are migratory birds that return from southern Africa to our places every spring. They nest in typical nests built of mud and straw underneath, in stables and other similar shelters. Over time, they have adapted to man and today they are indispensable in the countryside. They also play an important role in insect control. Swallows returning from Africa in the spring are exhausted from the long road, and building a nest would make them even more exhausted. Building a nest is very challenging. An average of about 1,300 flights per building material is required per nest. Therefore, the couples return to the same colonies.
