Macro Monday – Monarch Butterfly

Twenty years ago, there were a billion butterfly monarchs flying around the world – colorful butterflies of extraordinary beauty. Now only a tenth remains. This could not only be due to climate change, but also to insecticides used for faster plants growing.

Orange and black butterfly monarchs cover nearly 4,000 kilometers. Each spring, they fly from their winter habitats highlands to the summer places.

Like every year, they will leave us for the winter season. the next summer, we will again be looking for them. Butterfly monarchs with wings around 10 cm are a popular subject for biologists and geographers. But these beauties are inexorably diminishing.
