Macro Monday Challenge – Water Hyacinth

Here is a macro of a water hyacinth in bloom. It is one of the prettiest flowers though it is a terrible weed that clogs lakes and other water bodies.

This shot isn’t very good as these flowers grow further in the lake I tried to get a decent shot without a tripod from the sloping banks of the lake.

There are about 7-10 blooms on this bunch I guess.

  1. I always quoted water hyacinths as one man’s food but another one’s poison. Not exactly food but I know US gets rid of it while I grow them in a tub.
