These flowers have their name – Gulmohur. But we as kids always gave it the name May flowers as they bloomed in the month of May the month when we had summer holidays.
Nuns used to organise summer camps and we would attend those summer camps covering the distance on foot and that is when we had time to admire these trees lined up on both sides of the road that led us to the school, laden with flowers.
We would pick those flowers strewn on the road and take them home. Many memories are associated with these flowers – May flowers.

A beautiful tree. We do not have these trees in our country.
We have a few others too and yes you too must have trees that do not grow here.
I don’t know that tree but would love to have it in my yard.
They are trees more meant for planting on road side – kind of avenue trees
I love these trees, brings back a lot of childhood memories for me.
Wow! Nice to know you have them too
It looks nice but not growing here.
Beautiful flowers on this tree. We don’t have it here!
Have leaves on your trees changed colour as yet?
How lovely, am not familiar with this one.
We do not have leaves changing colour as you have.
Have them here in Spain
It is a nice feeling to know there are other countries having this tree.
To me, these beautiful flowers are unknown, dear Grace
Some trees are common in many countries.
We don’t have many flowering tree where I reside.
Our roads have these and other flowering trees
