Luke 9:24: Happily Losing It for the Love of God

It is tough to lose thyself in the name of the Lord. However, when we love Him, it becomes meaningful and so simple. Sometimes, we have to give away a few things that we desire or want the most. Some attachments are so strong in our life that we do not want to lose them at any cost. However, the cost of the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ is immeasurable. We don’t want to lose on our dreams when it comes to sacrifice for the sake of the Lord. Even then, God’s promises are true and above all. He says that those who lose their life and dreams for my sake will save it and have it in double measures. Losing life for Jesus also means that we daily say “NO” to the evil desires of our flesh and always say “Yes” and “Amen” to His word, promises and plan.

So, are you receiving this word in Jesus name, then, let’s say “Amen”.

  1. Luke 9:24 New International Version (NIV)
“For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it.”

That’s a difficult verse to understand.

What did Jesus mean here exactly by losing our life?

“Life” as used here must mean the eventual continuation of it in the Heavenly worlds.

When we hang onto life in the physical world, we will have to keep returning to it, until we drop our attachments to it.

The sins of the father are passed down to his sons. We keep inheriting a stay in the world, until we give it up for God then.
