and suddenly gone.
Things that fade to black
and then
gone.
The last dying rays
reaching
to the edge
of the sky
and then crashing
down
leaves only the sound of lapping waves.
and birds
rushing home
their day done
their commute has begun
the clogged superhighway of the sky.
Viewing backward
sometimes
all that can be.

I love the sound of the sea. It is magical in my eyes!
I love watching the birds flying home at dusk. There used to be plenty of them when I was a kid. Now, the sound of waves kissing the shore actually keeps me awake at night.
