There are no limits on votes today. There are a lot of poll questions vote for the ones that impact you! I will share the list one more time before sending it to the admin. Every single day we’ve done this (now five days) you guys come up with more wonderful ideas. There are three new ideas shared by Virily authors in today’s much longer poll. That said, please continue to add new ideas for this overall concept.
I would like to compliment the entire community. The comments, while not always in the agreement, have been considerate. I appreciate that. The poll votes have continued to grow. It is important that you vote on the poll. Honestly, you don’t have to comment if you do not want, but your voice can’t be heard if you don’t vote pm the poll.
Tomorrow I will pull together one last poll where we go back to only picking our top four (out of the 8 or 9 or more, pending new ideas). The goal of today is to continue to shape and improve our community. I have always been a fan of the Reddit Rules for posting and commenting. The concept is to remember human. As people consider content, comments, and such, it is important that you make sure you aren’t making the person uncomfortable with your comments!
When the internet was young, there were several discussions forums (bitnet was one of them) where people could share ideas. At that time, if you attacked a person, it was called flaming. It was always ok to disagree with an idea, but the person wasn’t to be attacked. The name flaming is still used to his day. Ok to disagree. Not ok to call the person a name, or to deride them in your comment.
Enjoy the poll today – keep the ideas coming! Comment on any of the poll questions to build a stronger case for your favorite!
(my favorite is the ability to delete comments from my posts. Today you can report comments, but the moderators may decide to let the comment reappear on your post). As an author, if I am willing to lose the viril (when you delete a comment you lose the Viril from that comment), I should be allowed to choose that option!

how about an updated FAQ? there have been a lot of policy changes around here which aren’t in the FAQ and sometimes are the opposite of what is in the FAQ
well at the time they were posted they were frequently asked questions. I suspect that is why Norman started his Facebook group!
what is the point of a FAQ which has the wrong answers?
I guess if they were FAQ’s once.
crap I don’t know. I never understood static tier 0 crap anyway.
static anything doesn’t make a lot of sense anymore
My gut, based on the emails I’ve gotten back is that they don’t have a ticket management system.
based on that static FAQ’s would, in fact, be more the norm, bro rather than the exception.
injustice is the norm, that doesn’t mean we should be happy about it
well oh great crusader, I suspect not updating FAQ’s isn’t an injustice worthy of your armor.
It might be short-sighted
FAQs that aren’t updated are worse than useless, because they give false information. I don’t call this injustice, just illustrating why we shouldn’t tolerate something because it is the norm…
if the admin team responds to the asks sent today from the community, and opens a dialogue I will add this pal!
Your point is well taken!
and this isn’t a big ask…
fixing the FAQ’s feels like a pretty straight forward ask. But…
yeah, I hear you… do let me know how this turns out
I want to edit my posts and comments. I would welcome these two options first of all.
Thanks! Those seem to be the top two overall asks of the Admin team.
I would comment on the third question. I can not understand their criterion on approval of posts. I’m still waiting two to three days for post approval. Some members have multiple posts each day. Nobody will convince me that they have so many posts that they can not regularly approve them. Why do not they approve nicely in a row as posts are received ??? I do not like this, and it seems to me wrong. I sent them a message but as usual I did not receive an answer and clarification
Some members are verified members, I am too, so i do not need to verify my posts anymore. Stay here, add good content, and one day you will become verified member too.
You are very right, the problem is they haven’t been adding new Verified users in a while. I don’t know of one in more than a year.
I could be wrong, but I haven’t seen a new one.
Thank you so much for the encouraging words. I really insist on the wonderful friends I met on this site. I hope that I will see the day when I become a verified member ?
I hope you do as well, hopefully, we will get a response from the admins with this communication!

I have captured this as an issue, should I refine the poll question a little? What am I missing that would help you feel better?
Understanding their rules?
Understanding how they approach approvals?
I am aware that you can not help me, but I must say my opinion. ? At the moment, I am most overwhelmed by the approval. My bad mood will pass …..
Unlike others that have wandered this site, my personal rules are to be fair and honest in all cases.
I want to continue to grow our wonderful community!
Hard to say just two Doc. At first I would say block a user, but I have had dealings with that on other sites and it got kind of messy. I think that should be up to Admin to maybe ban or block a user from the site. I like being able to report comments.
The two I choose are edit comments and edit posts after published. Typos are hard for me to deal with. Thanks for doing this and good luck.
I am going to take a day off and let this one sit. Then clean it up and do one last poll. Then share with the admin team!
Blocking and banning users makes me nervous but there are users who abuse the system and abuse people on the site. That isn’t good.
I wish you good luck to read your mail and read it to you, dear friend … they are inaccessible to me for me, which is very disturbing and I find myself extremely unprofessional
i understand. The fact that we are trying to build a community is the most critical thing.
You are really trying and respecting your efforts, I only believe a little more if you will succeed …. you want from me a lot of success
There is no success if you do not try!
You’re a one-time friend … but he’s totally right
I still would like to be able to edit posts, to delete my posts, report the content of a post and block a user. #1 for me is edit a post — change, add to or delete something. And I’d like the glitch of duplicate posts for comments to be fixed. 🙂
all excellent points thanks!!! if you could only pick two which two would that be?
The ability to edit posts and report the content of a post. It was hard to choose; but there it is!
excellent, thank you for that!
I think all question are very valid and good for a user
thanks! I am glad you find value in this.
I know a site where it is possible to block a user from commenting on specific posts, which is annoying if you are trying to get a point across that the poster simply does not want to hear – only yes-people are allowed to comment. Not a good idea, methinks.
Also, it was possible to delete unwelcome comments, which led sometimes to the nonsense of people raising objections to what has been said, but later readers could have no idea of what that was, because it had been deleted.
How did that site deal with people that repeatably made rude, aggressive or nasty comments?
Your argument is laid out well. Thanks!
I still think the author has the right to remove comments. The value judgment always has to be the right of the author.
People can get suspended, but I don’t know how often that happens. I get frustrated when I am having a really good argument with an idiot and the latter simply can’t come up with a good response so decides to block me instead!
The myth of free speech rises again.
An argument can be a two-way exchange.
It can also be a one-way exchange.
If the author blocks or removes a two-way conversation then I agree with you. Still the authors right to remove your comments though.
If the person, however, derides, insults or violates the community rules in their comments it is wholly within the author’s rights to remove them.
Good Luck with your meeting with Admin on all issues that users have voted for
sadly it will not be a meeting, it will be an email.
I knew you would say that (lol)
🙂 sorry, force of habit. I should have responded:
Thanks – looking forward to hearing what the admin team thinks!
