Let's Not Chicken Little!

I am not certain if you are familiar with the story of Chicken Little. If you have not heard of it. You can enjoy it right here. It teaches about the difference of actual problems and consequences and panic instead of solving real problems.

It would appear that many of us are still in the “chicken little” mode. When we do the best we can, and create beautiful and interesting things, share them with others, views go up and the site thrives. We are in control of writing great content with SEO as a base. We can post things that others would love to see. We can share the work of all and keep the site healthy.

We also have the power to do the opposite. We can point out all the things that are wrong, argue about who does what, ignore SEO and not invite others to come to see great work here. These things are totally within our control.

For the next seven days, I am not going to buy into the chicken little game. When I can tell by the title it’s all about the sky falling and problems. I am not going to open that post. I am not going to comment on that post. I am not going to read that post. I am not going to share that post.

Remembering that upvoting and downvoting really has no impact on earnings, it may be worth thinking about downvoting those negative posts. It would be a sad, bold move and perhaps it would alert us all when our tone needs to change.

This is a great example of what the outside world doesn’t want to come here and read. So my plan is not to leave it here long. I will leave it until I believe most have had time to read it, think about it and share their thoughts.
