Knight Star or Amaryllis

Amaryllis belongs to the genus Hippeastrum. A dozen representatives of this genus grow in the tropics of Central and South America, while the true amarilis originates from South Africa. On a long, hollow, large stem, which is usually longer than 30 cm, the amarillis carries two to six flowers trumpet-shaped. The flowers are flaming red, pink, salmon, orange and white, sometimes multicolored or with colored veins. But interesting are not only flowers, but we can also look with interest from the bulb of a penetrating flower stem with floral designs, which propagates just before the leaves or at the same time with them. I photographed this Amaryllis at a restaurant.
