Keeper of Secrets – giclee print

In some mythologies, there is an angel assigned to preside over each part of creation. Apparently this fellow is meant to preside over secrets. The blindfold signifies that he is only meant to keep them, not peek at them. I guess. I have no idea; after introducing the ribbons to give the piece a nice Renaissance feeling, it seemed like a blindfold would compliment the theme, so it just showed up. It wasn’t even in the earlier versions…

And the modesty ribbon was only there to tease my female fans and I didn’t want to do a fig leaf. The drips finding and losing edges was intended from the beginning, as was the ruined fresco look. I am also quite taken with the hermetic halo, and will probably pursue that notion in future works. Please look forward to it!

  1. Your works are in accordance with that title. The title itself I can think of as a metaphor for ourselves, consciously or unconsciously, always keeps a secret (of life). Do you see or realize your own angels? For me, it is not mythology.
I like the idea of the ribbon!
