NOLA, or the Big Easy as it is sometimes called is an amazing city.

The Big Easy is a bustling city reborn after a horrible tragedy. The city rose from the depth of despair after Hurricane Katrina.
The first time I went to NOLA was for the Jass Fest. It is an epic event!

The company I worked for has a sales meeting in New Orleans. I remember finding a restaurant on Bourbon sitting and sitting on the veranda watching the crowd go by. IT wasn’t the famous Mardi Gras, it was just a Friday night on Bourdon Street, but it was an amazing thing to witness!

Ok, thank you very much. So I guess people eat this in New Orleans.
they were originally a NOLA thing, but now are all over the US.
Popeye’s no longer does the Po Boy sandwich. I guess everyone is buying their chicken sandwich.
i saw that – i love Po Boys down at some of the places by the river!
That means you know Carol better than we do. I read a lot of books and I’m familiar with some basic things about New Orleans. I liked this post. Tomorrow I will continue with the others. These days are hard for me. It is very difficult to take care of a person with Alzheimer’s. You can never foresee the next step of such a person.
that I am aware of, we lost my mother-in-law, father-in-law and father to that horrid disease.
Now we learnt something new about Carol. Way ta go Doc!
she and I have talked about NOLA many times
It’s a stunning place. It is not observed that this city would experience such a catastrophe.
it was bad after the hurricane. they picked up and moved on!
It was really severe. I’ve watched some documentaries about this hurricane.
it was, but it also came to a place that had been modified by human beings. NOLA used to have natural swamps that protected it from surge waters. Those were filled in and made into housing.
nowhere for the water to go but into the city.
Judging by the pictures, this must be a really nice place, even though I don’t like big cities …. I’m used to small towns and huge crowds are already forming here.
Nola has huge crowds but it is a beautiful city pal!
Thanks for the mention Doc. I absolutely love New Orleans. When I lived there things were a little different than they are now. The food was the best ever. Po-Boy sandwiches, the best coffee in the world, beignets, oh my! Cafe du Monde was a favorite place. Mardi Gras parades. And the zoo is incredible too. I loved watching the New Orleans Saints play NFL football. Go Saints! I could go on and on.
mothers – po boys, the river, jazz festival ah magic!
Absolutely, great memories. Would love to go back one day.
New Orleans, my friend who is in a Jazz band and goes to the festival every year, is not a destination, it is.
🙂
I don’t know what cities Carol likes, but I know what her favorite bird is!
i think New Orleans is her favorite city. but I would let her answer that!
New Orleans has the best food in the world!
i want to make crawfish etouffee
My Dad made it often. He loved the food as well.
best southern food I’ve had! Plus the origin of Cajun cooking and Creole music!
My husband just explained to me that my home should be wherever he is. That made me kind of sad.
why sad, i know when I was traveling home was where my family was!
Because I am right here with my husband and my brother and I long to be in Montana and they know it. I would love for them to come and go with me. It just can’t be now. So I am stuck here longing for a place and perhaps not enjoying the family.
we do what we can do!
Let’s see how long I can try and remember that Carol DM likes New Orleans.
We all know I really don’t love going anywhere but home. I wonder if I moved back home, I would then like to go to other places. What do you think?
that might be what you need! the most important place in our hearts is always home!
