Back in the dark ages of the internet, there was a concept of “mobile” versus “computer site. Where a site would “render” or appear on the screen fitting the device you were using. It was an automatic redirection (you are accessing from a mobile device I will take you to the mobile site. I won’t say it was perfect, and there were many times when on your mobile device you got stuck in the desktop version of the site and vice versa. Today I don’t have the issue anymore. You can access sites on all devices pretty effectively. What I have found now is the interesting reality of security. How many times have you changed your Virily password? I am on my 3rd, but in saying that I realized I need to change mine again.
The reality of the internet today is that there are people seeking to find out more about you. It is called PII. Or personally-identifying information (its normally identifiable but I made it easier to translate). Information that lets someone figure out who you are. There are many scams on the internet that continue to plague users, and the reality is it is our responsibility to be awake and aware.
1. Be careful, and Your birthday is always a secret question used to verify who you are. If someone else outside your family knows your birthday, they can open credit in your name.
2.Your government identification (in the US in the 1970s your social security number and your driver’s license were linked. That is no longer the case) The ID or number by your government is critical information.
3. Having your passport number can allow someone to get the information for one of the two above.
4. Finally, your physical address and the last couple of physical addresses you’ve had can be used as well.
I don’t want to scare people. The reality of the world we live in is diligence is the most important personal security thing. The most important security rule for everyone to follow is to assume you are at risk. The US Government and the European Union have security rules for information. GDPR, which is the European Laws around personal information are the strictest in the world right now. However, government rules don’t answer your phone. Government rules don’t respond to emails. In fact, if I may, I would like to share the best advice I have ever been given about scams.
If it sounds too good to be true, it is!
Your safety is your responsibility.
PS, change your Virily password!

Always try to make complicated passwords & not to keep them on my PC cause it’s also may be hacked. Your article was very useful, ready to change my Virily password!!!
its important to change them every 5 to 6 months.
I think it’s a good idea to change them often, and use complex ones. Great article here once again.
Thanks Kim, I change mine more often than most, but I have a good friend on the security team that changes them every 10 days.
I think that anyone who wants to do it will succeed … I’m a minor person and I don’t think I could do much to help with my data … I don’t have bank accounts and other information on the internet … it’s the same as car theft …. what kind of security codes and everything can be built into the car … thieves are always a step ahead of the manufacturers …. if anyone wants to steal my car it will be stolen …. anyway thanks for the interesting info
I do understand your point. I would caution you that the risk is real if you are online or even if you are not.
I totally agree with you, dear friend … the risk today is even when you sit behind the wheel
The risk is real regardless, online or offline. Because your bank is online. Your account may not be, but your bank is!

Today is how to make a complex passphrase.
I will come up with other online security posts over the next few days!
I make my passwords very complex, after my site and FB account were hacked into I have been very careful , in fact I have deleted my FB account as well.
Once someone hacks you, they can wreak havoc in your life! Sorry to hear you were hacked.
I haven’t changed my password on this site for a long time but I guess it’s time I did, thanks.
you probably should! I worry about passwords often
I log onto Virily with my Google account and have not created a password
time to change your google password!
Thank you for the reminder. Noted, my friend.
you are most welcome Alex!~
Thanks for sharing interesting info and reminder. We really are never completely safe on the internet and we have to be very careful.
There are so many people intending to do bad things! passwords are only one line of defense.
Phrases are good to use. Good reminder as well.
I am going to write an article about improving your Virily security! I suspect I should have a long time ago.
Well, new passwords are often a problem having to remember or have on hand stored passwords…
I think I should write a password post again. I use pass phrases like
Mydogisgrouchy19
Then simply replace the o’s with @
Myd@gisgr@chy19
simple to remember really hard to crack!
That’s a good one. I never thought of that. Though I added some special characters in my passwords, I think it’s easier to actually replace some letters with the special characters. Perhaps ! for i. 😀
Thanks for the great idea!
you are most welcome – it is a really useful way to create easy to remember complex passwords!
Wow that is a really good idea, thanks I will remember that
Happy to help any way I can! The safer all of us are, the safer all of us are!!!!
Great information , thanks you very much Doc
Thanks! Glad to hear the article was useful!
