flickering lights
the sound of
humming
and the smell of Ozone
rising around the
wisps of smoke
that pooling into clouds
slide towards the ceiling
as if on rails.
Sliding up and down
like a child’s toy
marble track
up and down
seeking the lull
that is the bottom.
I smell the ozone swirling around me
as if cotton
filling
space
but leaving always
one last hole.

Modern technology is sometimes too smart for me … I learn what I need
I understand that, part of my job is staying ahead of what is possible, but it can be frustrating at times!
It turns out that tech is really just a form of sorcery which traps magic white smoke inside electronics that makes the work…
dude, that would be the most awesome image! If you make that one I will buy it as my computer background!!!!!
you’ve never heard of the magic white smoke?
Honestly i’ve heard of white smoke, but specifically magic white smoke, no.
I had a boss who would say that whenever a computer part got fried…
We used to say “that part gave up the ghost.” I see the connection now!
I believe that saying predates computers by a few centuries…
I suspect you are right on that. I don’t even remember when we started that, probably network equipment around 1992 or so…
that’s about when I heard it, but that saying would work for even radio components…
I was big into HAM radio back then, I think now that you jogged my memory that was the first place i heard it.
An old tub radio of a friend in New Mexico blew up, when he was back online, he said: the tubes had given up the ghost!”
Yeah, that’s the problem with vacuum tubes. I prefer solid state…
This is very unpleasant
It is, sometimes the poems go towards the dark side of life.
