I am not sure , either way here it comes. My army man critter. I have no clue what kind of insect this is. It was on my banyan bonsai one morning a few years ago. He didn’t move much but he was alive. I love the army fatigues. The perfect camouflage from birds which are always looking for food. He was about two and half inches across and a good one and half inches or more lengthwise.
Do you like my Mr army man?

Pamela Moresby, either ways the pictures posted on Friday, Saturday or Sunday never gets to see the light until Monday or Tuesday. Thanks for the visit and the comment. Sorry for being slow to respond.
No worries, I believe you are right Dawn
What a beautiful visitor you had. I see it for the first time.
lacho59 Some of these tiny critters seem to be the most beautiful ones. Thanks for stopping by lacho59.
Cool moth! love the picture. How long did it stay around?
Thank you so much. I appreciate that.
Very beautiful picture dear friend … for the first time I see this animal … it’s like a butterfly
Now I know this is a moth. Thanks for taking a look.
A very clear shot but I don’t know what kind of critter is this. Though it is really beautiful.
I agree he is beautiful , I usually take pictures and ask for help to identify these creatures. That way I know what is helpful or harmful in my garden.
I think we know nothing about most insects unless we study Zoology!
Sunny you don’t have to be a Zoologist, just a little interest is enough. ?
I think I lack that interest seriously 🙁
Everyone cannot be interested in everything, its just that your interests may differ from mine.
Beautiful butterfly. I see him for the first time.
That is a moth, thanks to IIleana and Kim now i know that.
I think it’s a kind of night-time butterfly. We call it Sovica. I do not know the native name.
But some members have written it. It’s true.
Thanks robin for telling me that moths are around mostly at night.
I’m not sure it’s a moll. If it’s OK.
I know that your butterflies who are around the lamps during the night but when day she sleeps and like mummies ,we call this butterfly the Sovica.. Maybe they are not moths. The Sovica is a butterfly named after a bird owl, which is mostly night-active.
Sovica- Sova- Owl.
I guess we call them by different names in each country and region. Thanks for sharing this information.
You are welcome, anytime.
The challenge is Saturday Critters. Love your photo. I see it has been identified.
Thank you Carol, I will remember it now, either ways what I posted on Friday is only published on Tuesday LOL
Different and still good looking critter. According to Ileana and Kim it is a kind of moth and I have a tendency to agree. The colors are definitely army type. Cute. P.S. At first I thought it was ceramic type of insect but as continued reading I realized it was a real one. Cool…
Haha history girl even my husband thought it was a fake at first. He does look impressive doesn’t he?
Yeah, it is on top and controlling position
LOL he was like a wounded soldier when I first saw him.
It is a Sphinx Moth. Eumorpha Pandorus Sphinx Moth. Ileana got it!
Thanks Kim it is an oleander sphinx moth . Makes sense as we have oleander all around us.
I think it’s Green Sphinx Moth.
Great picture! I forgot to say that!?
You got it. And yes, boy I also forgot to say it is a great shot. Easy to identify through it.
I just did a bit of looking around and figured it is an oleander sphinx moth. Thanks for the tip, I wouldn’t have known otherwise.
