I know it’s irrational. And still I got up and as soon as it was light enough I went to the back door, like I do every day, to check out the sunrise and see what the world looks like. We rarely have fog, we have wide open spaces and I cannot even see the trees in the back yard. It makes me feel uneasy and I know that is irrational. There is nothing out there in the fog waiting to harm me.
And still I quickly closed all the curtains and created a safe little place for me. I guess the next time we have fog my goal is going to be to get my shoes on and go for a little walk in the fog. I have never done that and perhaps once I do, the uneasiness will leave me. (It might also help if I don’t say outloud whenever there is fog “Something wicked this way comes.”

Fog and the reality of fog is all about the unknown.
We are bound to our senses (sight, touch, sound, taste) when one is removed (sight) we have the uneasy feeling.
I love walking in the fog. It is a different experience than walking in the rain, sunshine or snow. But then I love walking.
We will soon have fog. It happens soon after the rainy season
I love fog but do not like driving or walking in it. I like to see where I am going.
I wish I could see the beauty without the cool shiver of fear.
The most dense fog I have ever seen was when we lived on Lake Erie. It’s a very large body of water and temperature changes close to the land can cause a fog so dense that you literally can’t see 5 feet in front of you. It was quite disconcerting.
It so rare here. I thing I have probably experienced fog less than 25 times in my entire life.
I like the cover photo you posted.
Thanks, it looked a lot less scary than the pasture I couldn’t see at all.
Never have dense fog…
but we did have some fog due to forest burning …
it’s not very thick but have a burning smell
That sounds like smoke.
Defense fog ??? I love fog
Then you should have been here this morning. You would have been pleased.
Every day is a gift to cherish fog or not. Yes, beware driving in bad fog, but know the day is still for us to discover many things.
Thankfully I closed the curtains and got on with my day.
