Sharing a photo from Dustin’s garden back in the spring of 2018. Had my camera out taking butterfly photos. You can see the bench in the background.
All of a sudden I saw what I thought was a hummingbird. On closer look I saw that it was a hummingbird moth. I rarely see these in the garden. So beautiful.
This is a rare Clear Wing Hummingbird Moth. If you have never seen one they are sometimes mistaken for a hummingbird.
But if you look closer you will see the difference. This moth has clear wings and is considered an insect. This is only the second one I have ever seen.
Keep your eyes open and your camera handy while outdoors. You never know what you might see.

I never heard of a hummingbird moth but I do love the look of it
