I have two young children at home and I have become a specialist to remove some stains, including pen stains.
For shirts, dresses or other pieces of clothing stained with blue or black pens, the best option is to wear a cotton swab soaked in alcohol and clean the dirty place. You can still choose to use a piece of cotton, but avoid using other items such as sponges, as these materials can damage the fabric. Repeat until the stain completely exits.
For stubborn stains, an alternative is to use white dish detergent. Leave on for one hour and then with dry cotton scrub the stain and rinse again.
Another method for removing stains from paint is to use toothpaste. To remove the pen smear, wipe the paste in place, then moisten and let it stand for a few minutes. Then gently rub the stain and wash the area with soap. The procedure can be repeated again until the stain disappears.
