How to be supportive

We are undoubtedly going through a very complex time socially, emotionally and financially.

But it would be really important that we could still help those who need it most and are in a more complex situation than ours. Love begets Love!

Make a selection of clothes to donate – Since many of us have taken advantage of this time to take a walk in the closets … it would be good if the pieces that are fit for use can be donated to associations that help people with deprivation.

Sponsor an animal – If they cannot adopt, at least sponsor an animal. The dropout rate has increased (a shame) and most sponsors have run out of sufficient funds to ensure the welfare of many of the animals that are sheltered from institutions. If possible, sponsor an animal with the donation of a symbolic value that guarantees its survival and quality – minimum – of life.

Look for a solidarity box – There are solidarity boxes in several places where food can be left and collected by those who need it most. Possibly a packet of rice will not have much impact on our final supermarket bill and can make a big difference in the lives of those who go through great deprivation.

Choose distributors of alternative essential goods – Of course, going to the supermarket is a normal habit and should be maintained. But it would also be interesting to look for producers and distributors of essential goods that have lost their main focus of distribution: restaurants. At the moment, there are several products available to the final consumer in the form of baskets.

Know if everything is fine – If we can’t help otherwise … there are small gestures that can make a difference in people’s days. Know if everything is fine. Ensure that the people we know know that we care and that we will do our best to know that they are safe.
