Most furniture being sold in department stores have to be assembled at home. If you have no aptitude in assembling such furniture then you should be hiring a person to do that. For us, it takes at least 2 hours to assemble a simple cabinet or a bathroom stand.

We have always either engaged carpenters or got ready made furniture to be delivered and those who deliver always assemble if needed.
Yes, those furniture are actually cheaper. I am usually not the main person who assembled the furniture, but my husband, I was usually just a helper. My kids are interested in assembling the furniture, especially my eldest son. Now it’s usually my kids who assemble things at home, on their own if they are simple, or with my husband.
