I got the news last week about a relative of mine who lost her son. I haven’t reached out to her Ben though I know I should.
The news saddened me a lot and I want to reach out, as I know the mother will be heartbroken but I wouldn’t know what to say.
What are some ways you can offer comfort to someone who’s grieving and in immense pain?

That’s really hard one. As a mom, I think there’s no way to comfort the mom. I do read online that it’s good to just be there for her, or let her know you are here if she needs you, and say nothing.
I lost my son and the ones that helped the most were the few people who said nothing except, I am here for you. That is about the best you can do.
I am sorry to hear that. I also read that it’s good to say nothing.
It really depends on the person. Some people just need to cry. Some people need support to stand and walk. Others just need to know you are there.
So based on that, know the person you are supporting understand their pain and reach out to them honestly.
Don’t tell them that everyone dies. Tell them you are there for them.
I start by saying that we all have to go one day.
Just wondered, are you being serious?
It does not stop there. Many get consoled with that thought
