There are more than 100 types of spices grown in the world, usually in our kitchen with more than 30 spices that contribute taste to our food. But ! Very few of us have ever seen these spices in real condition ie before being found in the market.
Cumin :
The shield is obtained from a special kind of white or pink flower. It is collected and left in a dry and dark place for some time.

Cumin is a herbaceous plant like fennel and dill it is not from a tree, I have them growing in my garden all the time. They have tiny white flowers, this one you have posted here could be the Nigella flower sometimes called black cumin.
