Interesting. My mother used to say this (she was a nurse) – I remember when I was a teenager, she used to tell me off for gulping down hot liquids like tea, saying that it could cause cancer of the throat. I am 52 years old now, and never had cancer, but there may be something in this.

I never drink tea too hot but I am doubtful about this. However, I have always been wary about microwaves and never had a microwave oven and would not use that. I use a big toaster oven for baking.
