Homeless for Christmas

In the picture is a family that sleeps on the sidewalk of an avenue in the city. They are not actually homeless, just couldn’t find free accommodation in the city so they decide to stay in the sidewalk. And why so? They are in the city to take advantage of the holiday season. They are begging in the streets.

One sad color of Christmas in the city is the arrival of so many transients from the provinces to beg in the streets. This has been going on since I was a boy which means it’s been more than 50 years already. Making it worse, the government is not doing anything about it. My question is this – who brings those rural folks to the city? Your guess is as good as mine.

  • Have you seen a homeless family in the city?

    • Yes
    • No
    • sometimes

  1. It is impossible to see begging family here, children would be taken under the state’s care. Any children here cannot live in the streets. And parents whose children are begging would be judged for child abuse.
