Christmas is normally a time when many of us are preparing to spend time with our families, buy gifts for those we care about and tuck into a hearty meal … but do we ever think of those that are less fortunate than ourselves? It’s easy to forget those without a roof over their heads who will be living on the streets not knowing where their next meal is coming from. I can’t imagine being in that situation.
For whatever reason there will be people who have no joy this year and Christmas will be a particularly hard time for them. So this year while you are eating and drinking, remember to raise a glass to those who are living on the street cold and hungry, and hope that maybe they will be able to turn their lives around in the coming year.

I meet a lot of homeless people in a nearby town. Which I am very sorry for especially in winter.
It is an important lesson to learn.
True. It is good to raise a glass. It is better to offer a helping hand to those in need. You are already doing that by spreading your kind message.
Yes I feel so sorry for those who have no one at Christmas time
Never been homeless but many are and it is sad.
Hopefully my family would never let that happen to me.
Thank goodness I don’t have to live on the street at all …. I always give them some money especially now that they are holidays, even if they spend it on drinks …. as they have to sleep to survive this cold
I think a lot of people don’t give them money because they think they will spend it on drink or drugs
Never homeless. There is a party that we organise Xmas time for the less privileged. and that is my contribution to bring a cheer in their lives.
That’s very generous of you
No , may almighty protect every one from being homless
It must be soul destroying
We try to do a little more than raise a glass. We work at the food bank and deliver food to the homeless. No one should be hungry in a country where we have so much. Compassion should be our guiding light.
I can’t imagine how awful it must be. I try to explain to my granddaughter how lucky she is and that there are people who have to live like this.
