Hibiscus Sky

Sharing a lovely blue sky from my yard back in the summer. My hibiscus plant was growing toward the sky. It looks like it is reaching for the sky. Don’t you agree? I am patiently waiting for spring when the plants start to bloom again in my yard. In the meantime the cooler temperatures are here. So I will make the best of them. Trees will be planted tomorrow. An exciting day.

Hibiscus are deciduous shrubs with dark green leaves; the plants can grow to 15 feet tall in frost-free areas. Flowers may be up to 6 inches diameter, with colors ranging from yellow to peach to red. Hibiscus can be planted singly or grown as a hedge plant; they can also be pruned into a single-stemmed small tree. The flowers are attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds.

This is such a beautiful contrast to that lovely blue sky. What did you plant?

    • Love that song, now it’s in my head. 🙂 Nothing planted, cancelled due to ice on the trees. Adding a red dogwood in the front, white pines to the back (due to the houses being built), crepe myrtles on the side, a couple of more blue cypress, and small variegated boxwoods in the front.

  2. A very lovely plant! I am also waiting patiently for the summer. I am very sleepy in fall… our weather is a bit gloomy, cool, windy and snowy. 2 days ago snow covered the ground. Watching summer pics helps to improve low spirits.
