I buy seeds online and it is just a risk I take as not all seeds that I receive yield good results.
I have had many disappointments. I had ordered for the seeds of morning glory in 8 colours and paid quite a bit for them but none came up.
I could say I get just about 30 or 40 percent success from seeds bought online. I have no other choice.
If the seeds are healthy they will end up producing great results such as the zinnia you see here.

Do you buy seeds online?

Some seeds produce and others don’t, and it depends on how old the seeds are before planting
My “comment is awaiting moderation” … I put a link in there. Oh well. I buy seeds from a company I like called Baker Street Heirloom but usually from them at expos or a seed bank. Their seeds have always been good. However they have a free rare seed catalogue and also a big catalogue (not free). I put a link to them in the comment. Will it escape moderation? We’ll see soon. It’s almost time for them to wake up from sleep. (lol)
I hesitate to say this because I feel you know more about this than I do; but, some wildflowers need to be seeded in the Fall and they come up in the Spring. ?

I hope this works! Do I need more characters? Not any more.
You do not have to hesitate. Learning is a continuous process and you are right about that but seed suppliers should make a note of that too and not send seeds that are not fit to be sown at times they send us.
I love these people though I usually buy from them at a seed bank or at an Expo.

The heirloom expo is coming up soon and I must decide if I can travel to that. I’m hoping so. Vandana Shiva will be there to speak I’m sure and I always enjoy her perspective. I think I’m going!
I have a neighbor that gives me seeds at the end of the summer to plant. But a friend buys all of hers online and does very well.
Those from your neighbour I can say will surely yield good results.
I only buy seeds in stores that are designed for pseudo-seeds … I don’t buy anything online
We used to get seeds here before but not any more. I therefore go online
