Section 8 under Article VI of the 1987 Philippine Constitution states that unless otherwise provided by law, the regular election of the Senators and the Members of the House of Representatives shall be held on the second Monday of May.
Today, May 13, 2019, is the midterm election and those who will be elected will take office on June 30, 2019.
My daughter and I went to the polling precinct at around 11:30 in the morning. Since it’s almost noon, there are already a lot of people in the area waiting for their chance to vote. It took us an hour and thirty minutes before we finally cast our votes.
This is the first time that I went to the polling precinct almost noon. In the past, I would always see to it to be at the polling precinct first thing in the morning. When you’re early, you can finish early.

Yes I voted first time 8 months ago
Thank you for sharing your opinion on this matter.
I had the ink on my finger on April 17 ago
Yeah, your election was conducted several days ahead of us. Thank you for visiting and commenting.
…and now the people are demanding a straight, clean, honest and fair vote count.
In my country voting is tense and unpredictable. They are worst days
That’s sad to know. Stbrians. The recently concluded election in our place is generally peaceful. Thank you for commenting.
It is great you had a peaceful election. Always pray for us. We have started gearing for elections in 2022 even barely two years since the last one
Well, the election is done. The results are in. A lot of people are not happy with the results, some are satisfied.
Let’s just hope those who won will keep their promises, especially the senators.
But I think many are happier because those the people they voted for in the first place. Personally, I am very disappointed but that’s the choice of the majority of voters. But on the local side, I am happy with the result.
Thank you for dropping by ArtBytes. I don’t know what’s happening to the other site.
We have such blue finger after voting here too. It’s good to avoid those ghost voters.
Yes, Tiada. It’s been a practice ever since I started voting. Thank you for commenting.
In India, we are also going to vote soon
I wish you a peaceful and honest election.
Since I go early it is always quite and peaceful.
That’s true. Most people would usually go to the precinct during the middle of the day or after lunch. So if you are early, you can also finish early. Thank you for visiting and commenting.
I research thoroughly, and base my decision on who to vote based on their policies, their way of life as citizens before their run for candidacy—have they contributed to the economic progress in their community and country as a whole?. Is the leader I will put my trust in willing to hold himself/herself accountable in protecting me and my family, my country and the general population militarily and cionstitutionally? Is this leader a doer and keeper of his promises?
I hope every voter has a similar approach when it comes to choosing the right person for the position. Thank you for sharing your thought on this topic.
I always vote. I prefer early in the morning, because after that and like you have to wait a lot of time. Here in Spain you can send your voice in a sealed envelope by mail.
It’s good that you have the option of sending your vote by mail. We don’t have that here in our country. But we already have a computerized voting system.
It is always quiet and uneventful here during elections
That’s good to know Gloridaze. Thank you for dropping by.
Glad you completed your duty as a responsible citizen.
Thank you MohanBabu for dropping by. Yes, I always vote during an election.
The voter turnout in Italy is quite high, 73% of those who are eligible to vote, cast their vote. I didn’t vote for the last election, while I plan to vote for the EU parliament and local (regional) government. I only voted once, for the previous EU election.
At the moment, it’s exciting to go voting because I’m young and have little experience, but honestly, I don’t believe elections can make a serious difference. ?
Thank you sabtraversa for sharing your thoughts on this topic. I am not sure if we can still do something to change what has been part of the tradition. But still, we need to practice our right to vote.
Voting has become controversial here, mostly cannot be trusted at some polls, in some states, unfortunately.
Controversies are always part of the election. Worst was when a life is being taken because of politics. It’s so sad to think that some people will do everything just to be in power.
Yes and it happens all the time sadly.
I regularly went to the polls until they took into account our decisions. The situation was taken by another man.
Hi, vidocka! Thank you for sharing your thought on this topic. How long have you decided not to vote?
I have voted thrice in my life .
Thank you Witty Feeds for commenting. Are you still actively participating in the election process?
It is tense in the US right now. Lots of mud being flung.
Elections are interesting. I wish there was more focus on doing electronic elections. Prove you are who you say you are and use your phone to voice
Switching to a full electronic election can be a good option but I am not sure if this will be possible at this time. Though we have certain progress in our system as we don’t have to wait for several days before knowing the result. The counting and submission of votes are done electronically.
Using a blockchain based system would, in fact, be possible today, it is being tested in a number of places.
The advantage of that is multiple checkins and checkpoints that cannot all be influenced.
I do not go to the polls because they do it anyway
In our country, once you did not participate in the election for two consecutive elections. Do you also have that practice?
*Correction/Addendum: In our country, once you did not participate for two consecutive elections, you will be removed from the list.
We do not have such a bastard with us, dear Sharon … and even if I do not care
I have done it last month. I still have ink mark on my finger.
Hi Suny! I hope that the candidates who won are those who are truly deserving of handling a position. Thank you for sharing your thought on this topic.
Happy election day in your country! just be Sure to Vote the Right person and Not the Corrupt ones.
The truth is I am very disappointed on the result of this year’s election. Majority of the voters in the country remain unwise with their choices of candidates for a government elective position.
