Happy New Year

It’s a new year! A fresh beginning, a time to take stock and restart. We might laugh at ourselves when we talk about resolutions, wishing we could take them seriously. Sometimes we actually meet some of our goals.

Every year has its highs and lows. Each day is a new page in the book of our lives. There is truth in the old adage that taxes and death are things we can be sure of, but change should be added to the list.

We may think we would like to know what the future holds, but a little experience with life tells us that it’s best to take one day at a time. Most days hold more than we expect and are quite enough for us to handle.

In this changeful world true joy and peace belong to those who trust God according to His Word. In this new year I pray that you will have the rich blessings of God’s promised grace to all who will turn to Him.

  1. There is a quote that says something about one sure way to fail in one’s goals is to announce them so it may be that the tradition of resolutions is overrated. Some do find it a good time to take stock of changes they need to make, though.

When the holidays are painful it takes some time to regain our balance. I am so thankful for the help God gives as I take Him at His Word and trust Him to help me understand what He wants from me day by day.
