Happy Distractions – My Happy List

Things don’t always go the way we hope. Other times, no matter how much we try, we can’t find the solution we are looking for. In such cases, a distraction can be helpful. Many discoveries are known to be a result of insight that appears in a state where the mind is not consciously busy with the problem anymore.

Here are some of my happy distractions:

Comedy shows – sometimes all we need is a good laugh;

Creativity – creating art or even just a dish is like meditation to me. I may not have the talent, but it doesn’t stop me from enjoying the process;

Nature and animals – spending time in nature, watching the sunset, or being around animals is one of my favorite distractions;

Talking to a friend – a positive pal to chat with is another great distraction, and often provides a fresh perspective on a problem that you may have;

Achieving small goals – I often delay chores, but when I need a mood boost, crossing some small tasks off my list boosts my overall productivity and mood.

To join the challenge, create lists of things that make you happy and use “My Happy List” in the title.

  1. Lovely photo… Actually that happens to me often, I am stubborn and trying to find the solution even though at the moment I can’t and I know I have to switch to some other things… So what you wrote above is actually true and it doesn’t matter which activity it is…
